Have you ever heard of a football player who hasn't seen a football game? Or a teacher who's never sat in a classroom themselves? We wouldn't expect these people to be able to do their jobs, if they hadn't seen the pros in action.
It's the same when you play and instrument. Going to concerts helps you to know what it is that you are working towards. Also, parents, this is for you, it's always a great practice motivator!
So get out there, and go hear the local high school orchestra play, or even just listen to some YouTube videos of professional orchestras. Take advantage of opportunities you are given!
